Colin’s 4 Point Promise
Being a locally owned small business, we don’t have sales people or expensive offices to run, bring you more value for money in your project. The building industry has long received criticism of shoddy work and builders going bust. So here we would like to tell you what we are doing to overcome that, and make your building project as stress free as possible!
Firstly, we want to assure you we are not a “fly by night” company. Colin has been a builder for over 35 years, forming Stalwart Construction in 2006 after a stint being employed in commercial work. Colin and Lou own their own home raising their family in Parklands (you can read more about us), so you know we understand the Christchurch market and aren’t going anywhere!
1. On Budget
We’ll agree on a fixed price, fixed payment schedule, and if the scope of works changes we’ll make sure you know how much it will cost before you go ahead. And we won’t sting you labour at excessive rates on variations – you’ll know the cost of this before we start work.
2. On Time
Before we start we’ll give you a fixed completion date, and you’ll get regular updates throughout the project so you know we are on schedule. Sometimes things will happen beyond our control (eg weather), but the things we can control (good suppliers, and reliable sub-trades) won’t be holding us up! Again, variations can happen, if you want to change the scope of works, we will let you know how this will impact your end date before you go ahead.
3. Respect – Our Site = Your Home
We’re privileged to be working in your home, and our team will treat it just like that. It’ll be left clean and tidy throughout, with respect for you and your property. Site (your home) safety and security are really important to us, and all our sites are smokefree.
4. Transparent, Timely Communication
As we’ve said above, keeping you informed is paramount. You’ll be regularly updated by the owner with how your job is progressing – we can do this how it suits you (face to face, on-line, phone or email), and how often it suits you. You’ll also have the owners phone number (mobile and landline) and email, so you can check in whenever you need to. We’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
