Our Team

Our Team

One of our key strengths is our team.  Small enough to care, and large enough to tackle a range of projects from a bathroom renovation to a new house build.  In addition to our core team, we have a few other quality builders who we work in with – helping each other when we are busy.  The subcontractors we use are ones who have proven themselves to fit with our ethics – fair priced, high quality work, and professionally run with friendly people.

Colin Satherley

Born and raised in Blenheim, Colin moved to Christchurch at around 20 years old, entering into the building industry.  He spent the following 25 or so years on a variety of sites, from renovation work to new housing.  He gained the valuable experience as being an employee, then in later years self-employed.  During the early 2000’s, he gained employment with a larger commercial company undertaking bar and restaurant fit outs.  After this time in commercial, he decided to return to being self-employed, this time forming Stalwart Construction Ltd in 2006, and he set out to get the qualification to back up his knowledge – completing his formal building training through an adult apprenticeship in 2010 with BCITO.

During the upheaval of the earthquakes in 2010-11, Colin did work as an insurance assessor for initial scoping visits.  With his team, he then went on to repair countless homes, under Fletchers EQR and for owners privately settled, earning much praise along the way.

During his spare time, Colin loves to spend time with his family, jam on his guitar, walk the dog, and of course renovate his own home.  He’s recently gained his motorbike licence, enjoying some weekends away seeing the sights of New Zealand!
